Party-party and malling weekend

Last Saturday we went to Gio's (my officemate's son) 1st birthday party at Kidzville in Podium. We've been to this place before, a couple of times, specially to celebrate R's 2nd birthday with her cousins last year. It's such a happy place not only for kids but for adults as well. There's even a salon where you can bond with your little princess. I also learned that Movement Studio (where I used to take pole dancing classes) transferred here. Namiss ko tuloy ang pole dancing, I might walk-in to one of their classes sometime.

Anyway to continue with the party, we came just in time for the start of the program. The party's theme was "Sports" and the place was decorated in line with that. Super aliw kami lahat sa "bibong" host. As in siya lahat, kumanta, sumayaw, umarte, nag magic, tumambling etc. Ano kaya tinira nun? Hehe. I was also so happy because first time sumali ni R sa games. Big girl na talaga siya. She joined the ball-in the-basket relay and their team won. Also for the trivia game, she kept on raising her hand kahit di naman alam ung sagot (maki gaya lang hehe). Afterwards we enjoyed the sumptuous buffet and watched the AVP. Got to catch up with officemates as well. Namiss ko narin sila. Then when the party was over, R enjoyed unlimited play at the play area, while me, Daddy A and baby JD made tambay sa gelato place outside. Overall we came home happy specially R with her prizes and loot bag.

Yesterday naman we went to Trinoma. When we came in, we immediately saw the Fruit Ninja show sa activity center. Aliw din siya pero nabore din kagad si R so ikot muna kami. Then we had meryenda at Razon's. Naghatak na si R for her usual carousel ride and Timezone. Afterwards, we went to Landmark. Mama bought some decors para sa dinedesign niyang condo, while we bought R Avent nipples ( yes again, nag iinarte at ayaw nung spout, matigas daw). Hay it's more difficult to wean her now from the bottle lalo siguro nagseselos because nag bre-breastfeed pa sakin si JD. We also bought JD some pajamas. Afterwards we went home na.

Pag laging sa bahay ka lang pala you really look forward to weekends and lakwatsa. Not that I'm complaining about my maternity leave though, it truly is one of the best times of my life. Ika ng isang friend ko "everyday is family day" daw for me. :)

Weekend activities and places to go with the kids

It's another wonderful weekend after a tiring work week. What better way to spend it than with the family. Like I said in my previous post, weekends are sacred for me. I made a vow when I started my own family that my weekends will be entirely devoted to them. So what exactly do we do during these days?

Well our regular schedule for Saturdays would be:
  1. Kisses, snuggles and cuddles when we wake up;
  2. Breakfast together;
  3. Kindermusik classes with R (I'll write about this in another post);
  4. and we do any of the following activities:
Walking the dogs

Swimming in the garage

Art projects (like finger painting, stamping)

Cooking/Baking

Groceries

See it doesn't have to be expensive. These bonding moments are practically free, could be done in the comforts of your own home and you don't even have to drive far.

On Sundays naman, here's our sched:
  1. Kisses, snuggles and cuddles when we wake up;
  2. Breakfast together;
  3. Mass;
  4. Lunch at Lolo and Lola's house;
  5. and in the afternoon we usually go malling or to any of these places:
Museums: The Mind Museum, Museo Pambata, Nido Fortified Science Discovery Center

Play areas in the malls: David's Playhouse, Kidzville, Gymboree, Active Fun, Timezone, Tom's World

Zoo: Ark Avilon Zoo (this was taken during R's 1st birthday celebration)

Theme parks: Manila Ocean Park, Star City, Fun Ranch, Enchanted Kingdom

Watch out for individual posts on the aforementioned places we went to. For these places you may have to shell out some cash, which I believe is still reasonable and within budget. Besides, the experience, discoveries and learnings your kids will pick up from these activities are truly priceless.
